Biography:

George E. Cogswell, 86, formerly of Baltimore, died early Thurs. A.M., Aug. 8, at his home in Littlestown.  He was the husband of Elizabeth Martha (Knighton) Cogswell of Littlestown for 59 years.  Born June 3, 1927 in Sykesville, he was the son of the late Frederick & Margaret (Medinger) Cogswell.  He was a Glen Burnie High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy during WW II.  George was a payroll clerk employed with W.R. Grace, Baltimore.
 
In addition to his wife, George is survived by 3 sons:  Edwin C. Cogswell of Baltimore; Paul G. Cogswell of Glen Burnie and Philip C. Cogswell of Baltimore; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters:  Arlene Page of Ocean City, MD and Marie Smith of Altoona.  George was predeceased by a brother, Charles F. Cogswell and a sister, Louise Haegerich.  He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and FOE #2226, both of Littlestown.
 
A Memorial Mass is 11 A.M. Monday, Aug 12, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant.  There will be NO viewing.  Inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery.  Memorials in George’s name may be sent to:  St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown, PA  17340  or  Our Daily Bread, 725 Fallsway, Baltimore, MD  21202.  Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

My deepest condolences to George's wife and family. He was a friend and co-worker for almost 35 years. Rest peacefully, old friend. You are joining lots of old Grace friends.
