Biography:

John G Jacobs, 77 of Littlestown died Saturday June 22 at his home. He was the husband of Judy A Ernst Jacobs of Littlestown for 56 years. Born January 28, 1936 in Littlestown, he was the son of the late Philbert D and Helen Doris Mehring Jacobs. John was a 1953 graduate of Littlestown High School. He worked many years as a carpenter and in 1980 started his own business, John G Jacobs and Sons Builders. John was a member of St Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown. Surviving in addition to his wife is 2 sons, Richard A Jacobs and wife Robyn of Littlestown, Christopher M Jacobs and wife Regina of Hanover, 2 daughters, Melanie Dorofee and husband John of Lititz and Amy L Jacobs of York. Grandchildren, Sarah E Jacobs, Forrest E Jacobs, Amanda Jacobs, Paige Gross, Anna Gross and Halina Dorofee. Abrother Kenneth R jacobs of California and a sister, Susan A Smith of McSherrystown. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Phillip Dorofee and Michael Jacobs, 2 brothers, Philbert D Jacobs II, Charles C Jacobs and a sister, Nancy Jo Jacobs. John loved being with his family , the Philadelphia Eagels and the Phillies. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and worked very hard to take care of his family. He will be missed more than words can say. In Accordance with John’s wishes, following cremation, there will be no viewing or service . A private Memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions have been asked to be made in John’s memory to St Al’s Catholic Church, 29 South Queen St., Littlestown PA 17340. Judy,
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. John was a wonderful man and a great craftsman. Mike and I will ever be grateful to John and Chris for the beautiful house that they built for our family. It is a tribute to their dedication and hard work. God bless you.
