Agnes Kent "Cindy" Darrow

Feb 13th, 1933 - Sep 16th, 2024

Biography: Agnes Kent “Cindy” Darrow, 91, of Littlestown and formerly of the State of Washington, passed peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024 at home with her son by her side.  She was the wife of the late James Allen Darrow, TSGT (retired) who died on September 21, 1986.
Born February 13, 1933 in Edinburgh, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Smythe.
After receiving her Ordinary Education Leaving Certificate, Agnes worked as a book binder. Later, she changed her name to Cindy Davis and traveled throughout Europe as a singer. During her time performing in nightclubs in France, she met the man she would go on to marry while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1967 where she raised a son, started a photography business and mentored many young singers and performing artists. Though she never remarried after her husband’s death, she enjoyed spending time with her many friends, performing and recording music, photography, knitting, watching Perry Mason re-runs and relaxing with her cats.
In addition to her husband, James, she was preceded in death by siblings residing in the U.K., Clara Gourlay, Eva Smythe, John “Jack” Smythe, and Norman Smythe.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews in both the U.K. and U.S., Aric and Keven Darroe (her son and his spouse) of Littlestown, twin sister Mamie and youngest sister, Irena (both U.K. residents).
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, WA.
