Biography: Joane (Lawrence) Hilterbrick, 84, of Littlestown, PA comfortably passed away Monday, Jan 21, 2013 at The Brethern Home
in New Oxford, where she resided since July, 2011. Born September 1, 1928 in Hanover, PA, she was the only child of the late
Norman and Theresa (Arnold) Lawrence of Hanover. A graduate of Delone Catholic High School, Joane was retired after 20 years
with Eddie's Cleaners in Littlestown office, and 20 years with the family-owned Littlestown News Agency.
"Jo" was an avid NY Yankee fan, and enjoyed all sports from golf to football, but baseball and the Yankees were her primary
passion! She had many dear friends in the local area, many whom she met over her years in retail. Joane would also like to
send a special thank you to her caregivers from VNA Hospice of Hanover & Spring Grove, The Brethern Home "Peace Valley"
Staff, and Ms. Sandy Howell of Gettysburg, Faith in Action volunteer.
She is survived by three children, Deborah (Johnny) Torrey, of St Petersburg, FL, Diane Greenwald of York, and Paul "Hap" (Beverly)
Hilterbrick, of Confluence, PA; five grandchildren, Christy (Bob) Brown of Drexel Hill, PA, Tony (Sarah) Pananes of Chambersburg, PA,
David Greenwald of Brooklyn, NY, Amy (Todd) Savini of New Alexandria, PA, and Justin Hilterbrick of Pittsburgh, PA; also the
shining light of her later years her great-grandson, Logan of New Alexandria, PA.
At the family's request there will be no viewing. Arrangements are entrusted to Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, PA. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 2 pm, Monday, January 28, 2013 at St Aloysius Catholic Church in Littlestown, with Rev James Sterner
officiating. She will be laid to rest at St. Vincent's Cemetary, Hanover, PA.

I worked for Jo at Littlestown News Agency for several years in the early '70's. She was a wonderful person and always had a smile. It's no wonder "Hap" was always smiling. He got it from her. I loved her and extend my sympathies to her son, Hap, and to all of her family.
