Biography:

Charlotte Romaine (Bowers) Sentz, 84, formerly of Littlestown, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 13, at The Brethren Home, New Oxford. Born October 31, 1928 in Carroll County, MD, she was the youngest child of the late Maurice D. & Martha C. (Myers) Bowers. Charlotte attended grade school in Black's Corner, near Taneytown, MD and graduated from Taneytown High School in 1945. After graduation, she worked for the Social Security Office in Baltimore, MD and later for the Cambridge Rubber Co., Taneytown. Over the years, she was a homemaker and mother to five children as well as a baby sitter to others. She later worked at Schottie's Restaurant, Littlestown and upon retiring she worked part-time for Schmuck Lumber Co, Hanover. Charlotte loved to cook and care for her family and friends, care for her flowers and her previous cats and dogs. She was a life long member of Piney Creek Church of the Brethren where she attended Sunday School, held various offices, Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday School. She was a kind and loving person to her family and friends.
 
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Harold R. "Dick" Sentz of 65 years years of marriage; 3 daughters: Linda F. Steck of Chambersburg; Martha K. Beverage & husband, Larry of Denver, PA ; Amy E. Forbes & husband, Mike of Hanover; 2 sons: Baron R. Sentz & wife, Luanne of Littlestown and Jonathan D. Sentz & wife, Sylvia of Shrewsbury; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Bair of Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Lebanon and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 sisters: Alice Wolfe, Margie Boyd, Elva Miller and Janet Bowers; a brother David Bowers and son-in-law, Gary Lee Steck.
 
Funeral Service is Thurs., Jan. 17, at 11 A.M. at Piney Creek Church of the Brethren, Taneytown, with her minister, The Rev. Stan T. Diehl officiating. Viewings are Wed., Jan 16, 6 - 8 P.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown and one hour prior to service time Thurs at the church. Interment is in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charlotte's name may be sent to her church at 4699 Teeter Rd., Taneytown, MD 21787 OR Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA 17325. Mrs. Sentz was a beautiful person inside and out. I had a lot of good times at her house where as Marty's friend, I knew that I was always welcome. May memories of her undying love sustain you as you release her spirit into Heaven.

I take Comfort in Knowing Heaven Has Gained a Gentle Kind Hearted Soul. We Have a New Angel Above Us. Charlotte has touched many lives over the years in her life time and she will be deeply missed in many ways by everyone. May God Bless and Comfort all of your Families in this time of sorrow.
