
Biography:
Katherine M. "Kay" D'Angelo, 89, of Hanover, died early Sunday A.M., Jan. 13, at Utz Terrace. She was the widow of Carmen V. D'Angelo who died 2/27/2009. Born Jan. 14, 1923 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Walter A. & Aletha "Ella"
(Koontz) McCarthy. She earned her B.S. degree from Indiana University, Pittsburgh and was a High School teacher for Stowe Township, near Pittsburgh, retiring in 1950.
Kay is survived by a daughter, Nancy A. Czajkowski of Hampstead, MD; three sons: Paul C. D'Angelo of Rock Hall, MD; Regis G. D'Angelo of Hampstead and David M. D'Angelo of Hanover; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Kay was predeceased by 2 daughters: Regina L. & Mary D'Angelo; a brother, Walter C. McCarthy and a sister, Anna Mae Emswiller. Kay was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover; Senior Citizens Club of Littlestown and Purple Heart of Maryland.
Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday 11 A.M. at her church with The Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons Celebrant. Viewings are Tuesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 P.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown. Interment is in Crest Lawn Cemetery, Marriottsville, MD. Pallbearers will be Kay's grandsons: Regis D'Angelo, Jr., Shawn Czajkowski, Adam D'Angelo, John D'Angelo, Benjamin Cimini and Christopher Meekins.
