Biography:  Patricia H. Weikert

Patricia H. "Pat" Weikert, 79, of Hanover, died Monday evening, Jan. 7, at her home. She was the wife of Maynard L. Weikert for 55 years. Born Jan. 8, 1934 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Leonard B., Sr. & Catherine (Burke) Hicks. Pat was a 1952 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and a 1955 graduate of the Registered Nursing Program at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital, Philadelphia. She began her nursing career in the Maternity Ward of Hanover Hospital; was later employed as a registered nurse by Dr. Leppard, Dr. Kirkpatrick, and Nutrisystem Weight Loss Center, all of Hanover. Most recently, Pat was employed by Evelyn Jones Antiques & Surprises, New Oxford and retired after 17 years of service from The Palms Dry Cleaners, Hanover.

In addition to her husband, Pat is survived by a daughter, M. Leslie Weikert of Rockville, MD; two sons: Scott A. Weikert & wife, Kimberly of Loganville, PA and Mitchell P. Weikert, M.D. & wife, Patricia of Houston, TX; two granddaughters: Katherine & Grace Weikert and two brothers: twin Leonard B. Hicks, Jr. of McSherrystown, PA and Lawrence C. Hicks of Indianapolis, IN.

Pat was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Hanover. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, her nursing career, her work at The Palms and especially loved spending time with her granddaughters.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 19th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover with the Rev. John D. Schmalhofer Celebrant. The Private Interment will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
