Biography: Shirley C. Close, 86, formerly of Westminster, died Friday, Feb 17, 2023 in White Oaks Village Assisted Living in Ellicott City. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene A. M. Close who died in 1998.  Born Dec 3, 1936 in Carroll County, Shirley was the daughter of Murray A., Sr. & Verdella E. (Werner) Lippy.  She had been retired from Cooper Power Tools since 1999.

Surviving  are her daughters, Bonnie J. Close  & husband, Jim of Catonsville and Debra C. Cole of Westminster; her grandchildren: Jeffrey Cole & wife, Jaclyn and Angela Cole; her great grandchildren, Shane Cole and Adalyn  Dean & Lucas Dean; her brothers, Gerald Lippy and Murray "Jr" Lippy and her sister, Laverne Kelbaugh.  She was  predeceased by her brother, Furman Lippy.  Shirley was a member of St. Mary's UCC, Silver Run.  She Enjoyed attending craft shows, watching game shows, gardening  and spending time with her family.
