Biography: James A. Brown, Sr., 81, formerly of Taneytown, MD and Foley, AL, died Thursday, Nov 11, 2021 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover. He was the husband of Vera May (Gartrell) Brown for 62 years. Born July 14, 1940 in Washington, DC, Jim was the son of the late George & Helen (Humerick) Brown. He was a 1958 St. Joseph's Catholic High School graduate of Emmittsburg. He served in the Air Force as a Staff Sgt from 1958-1966. Jim had been a Field Service representative for Air Engineers, LLC of Birmingham, AL retiring in 2003.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, James A. Brown, Jr. of Honolulu, HI, Jeffrey A. Brown of Orlando, FL; his 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Jayson and Payton Olivia Brown; 2 great grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Patti Brown; his brother, George Brown of Hanover and his sister, Carol Lemon of Upper Marlboro, MD.
