Biography: William W. King, Sr., 77, of Chambersburg and formerly of Littlestown, died Sunday, Oct 17, 2021 at Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital. He was the husband of JoAnn K. Rieder-King. Born Feb 6, 1944 in Washington, DC, Bill was the son of the late John & Virginia (Humphries) King. He was a Montgomery Blair High School graduate of Silver Spring, MD. He served 10 years in the Marines during the Vietnam Era. Bill "Sky" King pursued life with vigor and was a life-long learner. He chased his dreams with passion. He always worked in all aspects of aviation; pilot, instructor, FFA designated examiner, sales, annything to hang at the airport. He always said, "I never worked a day in my life because I love what I do."
He loved Jesus and wanted to share the grace he had found with others. He was dedicated to various ministies, Emmaus, Kairos, Credo, Tres Dias, local prison ministry and his church. He was very active in his local Marine Corps League serving as their chaplain. Reaching out to fellow veterans at the VA was close to his heart.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children: Patricia Fiske, William King Jr., Lise Farrington, Christine Robertson; his grandchildren: Jonathan, Robert, Iain & Andrew Stevenson, Aidan, Kinneil, Liam & Nola Mae Robertson; his great grandchldren: Hudson & Owen Stevenson and his brother, Phillip King. Bill was predeceased by his granddaughter, Joanna Russo, his brother Edward King and his sister, Darlene King. He ws a member of Antrim BIC of Chambersburg. and the Marine Corps League of Chambersburg.
A Memorial Service will be Sunday November 14, 2021 at 3 P.M. at the Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 Kauffman Rd. E., Chambersburg PA., 17202. There will be a visitation from 1-3 at the church. A Fellowship Gathering will follow the service at Landis McCleaf Marine Corps League, 450Grant St, Chambersburg. Memorials in Bill's name may be sent to Mason- Dixon Credo - P.O. Chaplain Bill King was admired for his strength of character and faith in God. His life has touched many and he will be remembered and love for his generous and loving heart and special care for fellow Veterans.
