Biography: Petra L. Brauning, 43, of Hanover, died Tuesday, Sept 28, 2021 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was the wife of Jeremy P. Brauning of Hanover. Born April 23, 1978 in Hanover, Petra was the daughter of Alfredo & Victoria (Diehl) Suarez. She attended Littlestown High School and was employed at Cancer Care Associates of York.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are her daughter, SIerra V. Moffitt & husband, Aram, of Hanover; her grandchildren, Mia, Ezekiel & Elijah Moffitt; her sisters, Tessa Amos and Nichol Bair and her brother, Payne Fuller. Petra attended Gates of Praise Worship Center, Littlestown. She loved the Lord and her family. Petra was the brightest light to the world and everyone who crossed paths with her saw her light and love for Jesus. Wife, Mother and Grandma were some of her most treasured roles here on this Earth. She was her husband and daughter's biggest cheerleader, supporter and motivator. Petra is one of the lucky ones, although taken too soon, but she is where she couldn't wait to be. Her light will live on with us all forever, until we meet again one day.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Oct 16, at 2:00 P.M. at her church. Burial is private at Christ Church Cemetery, Littlestown. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Petra's name may be sent to: House of Hope - http://houseofhopeyork.org/about-us/. Online condolences may be shared on www.littlesfh.com.

although, I never met Petra or Jeremy, I felt drawn through Karen Chronister and was one of the many “prayer warriors “ on their team. I am sad, that our almighty Father was short in his most high angel staff and needed Ms Petra..With deepest sympathy for Jeremy, and all her loved ones.

Petra was a real gem -- kind, compassionate, helpful, and a sweet angel. She had a welcoming smile that went ear-to-ear and had a gift for putting others at ease. I work from home for CCAY, but on the occasions when I went in to the office, if Petra was at the front desk, I, along with everyone else, was greeted with that wonderful, friendly smile. She will definitely leave a void for everyone who knew her. Prayers to her family.

My condolences to Petra's family. She was always the warm welcome I walked into every morning at the reception desk. I went out of my way to talk to her almost every day, and I'm going to miss the conversations and laughs that we shared. You don't always see everyone everyday at CCAY, but Petra did. Petra was a part of every single person's day here, smiling and cracking jokes. She was also one of the hardest working people I've ever met. Even when things were hard and stressful, she always came to work with that same warm smile. And just as she preserved through the hard times, she would want us to come to work with a smile and just keep going.

My prayers go out to your entire Family. They are no words to ease your pain, but God and our new Angel Petra will watch over you. I have been blessed to have laughed, shared stories of our outdoor adventures, our Steelers, and working together at CCAY with Petra for years.
