Biography:
Gladys L. Smith, 83, of Littlestown, died early Thurs A.M., Nov 8, at Hanover Hospital. She was the widow of Francis J. Smith who died Sept 10, 1975. Born April 26, 1929 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur R. & Ethel M. (Nichols) Kline. Gladys was a 1948 Greencastle Antrim High School. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters: Judy A. Smith of Gettysburg; Shirley M. Wonder of York Springs and Rosemary M. Smith of Littlestown; four sons: Terry L. Smith of Hanover; Michael F. Smith and John E. Smith, both of Littlestown and Ronald J. Smith of East Berlin; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild; a brother, Paul Kline of Kernersville, NC and a sister, Kathleen Witmer of Greencastle. Gladys was predeceased by 2 brothers: L. Ray and Melvin Kline. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown where she taught Sunday School for 24 years. She was a Ladies Aux life member of the following: Bonneauville Catholic War Veterans, Littlestown V.F.W. and F.O.E.
Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, Nov 12 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with The Rev. James M. Sterner Celebrant. Viewing is Sunday 6 - 8 P.M. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown with prayers recited at 8 P.M. Interment is in the Parish Cemetery.
